The all-new 2022 Jeep Cherokee is available with three different engines. The standard engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that produces 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. The optional engine is a 3.2-liter V6 that produces 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque. The EPA estimated fuel economy for the V6 engine is 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. The third engine option is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The EPA estimated fuel economy for the turbocharged engine is 21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. All three engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
?The handling and braking have been significantly improved for the new model year. The suspension has been revised, and the brakes have been upgraded to larger discs.
