The 2022 Jeep Compass is a compact SUV offering seating for five and standard front-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive is optional, and there are three different engines to choose from. The base engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a six-speed manual transmission, but a nine-speed automatic is available. If you want more power, you can opt for the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 240 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It comes standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
?Finally, the 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine produces 170 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a six-speed manual transmission, but a nine-speed automatic is available. The Compass has a maximum towing capacity of 2000 pounds when properly equipped. The main feature of the Compass is the Terrain Management System (TMS). The TMS has five settings that allow the driver to adjust the vehicle’s behavior to match the conditions: Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud, and Rock.
